Alternatives to NEET and Press Stories about NEET

The alternatives to NEET UG examination in India are AIIMS and JIPMER.

  • NEET is considered as a very balanced exam, where concepts and presence of mind, along with speed, are tested.
  • AIIMS examination has a similar syllabus as that of NEET UG. It tests your concepts and understanding. Here the numerical problems can be lengthy.
  • For JIPMER, you need to be quicker than NEET and AIIMS. The paper pattern for JIPMER is different than that of NEET and AIIMS. It contains 200 questions, 60 each from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and 20 questions related to English and Aptitude.

How does a good NEET score help you?

A good score will lead you to admission into a good government medical college. But it depends on many other factors. Any score above 600 is considered to be a good score; however, it also depends on the category you fall into. If you attain a score above 600, you can grab a seat via All India quota of 15%. You can also keep a target to contest for 85% quota of your state and get admission in one of the best medical colleges of your state.

A good score can also help a candidate get admission in various private and deemed universities with a higher cut-off score.
