Introduction

Guntur Medical College, located in the knowledge hub of Andhra Pradesh, is ranked 34 among the best medical institutions in India. With its rich legacy since 1946, it takes pride in serving the people of the south coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh.

History

Since its inception in the era of pre-independent India, the Guntur Medical College boasts of world-class infrastructure and a competitive environment. Clinical courses began in July 1954 with a strength of 50 undergraduate students. By 1960, the number of admitted students increased to 150. After that, the post-graduation courses started in 1956 for pre-clinical subjects and soon in 1958 for clinical subjects. The college now admits 78 post-graduate students every year.

  • The super-specialty and trauma center is onthe road to completion in the Government General Hospital to meet the ever-increasing demand of public health facilities.

Eligibility Criteria

  • A student aspiring to take admission in this college must clear a certain cut-off in NEET, for undergraduate courses and NEET PG, for post-graduate courses.
  • Generally, the cut-off varies around 550/720 for general category and near-about 450 for the reserved categories.
  • Last year, students up to the NEET rank of 7959 were able to secure admission in this prestigious college.
