Introduction

Nalanda Medical college is a premier top-ranking institution of Bihar. Located amidst the capital city, its establishment dates back to 1970. Affiliated to Aryabhatta Knowledge University and recognized by the Medical Council of India, NMC is a top government medical college.

History

  • The legacy of Nalanda Medical College started in 1970. Established by Dr.Vijay Narayain Singh (MS FRCS), Dr.Madhusudan Das (MR Ch) and Dr.Shailendra Kumar Sinha (MS FRCS) under the aegis of Shri Krishna Kant Singh, the ex-education minister of Bihar, with a vision to produce young, dedicated and bright doctors serving humanity.
  • The classes began on 2nd April 1970 with 150 students. Dr.Shailendra Kumar Sinha presided over it.
  • After that, in 1978, it was taken over by the government of Bihar and received recognition from the Medical Council of India.
  • The students admitted were now limited to 50. NMCH, in its journey of four decades, has come a long way and has acquired immense potential.

  • The presence of 24hours Emergency Lab enables round-the-clock investigation and reporting.
  • The Department of Pathology and Microbiology undertakes specialized tests of Histopathology, FNAC, Bone Marrow examination, and other special microbiological tests.

  • Affidavit Regarding Gap (Those candidates who have passed I.Sc. or equivalent examination before two years or more)
  • A hard copy of online filled-in Anti Ragging Undertaking through antiragging.in

Fee Structure

The admission and tuition fee for one year which is Rs6100 , can be paid online through the SBI portal.

The fee structure is as follows-

  • NMCH Student Welfare Fund- 3500/-
  • NMC Caution Money -1000/-
  • NMC Magazine Society- 500/-

Age criteria

Aspirants must be minimum age of 17 years at the time of admission or must complete that age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her entry to the 1st year MBBS/ BDS Course.
