Introduction
Fujian Medical University (FJMU) was founded with the mission of creating and nurturing a diverse community for over 70 years. We have developed an integral education system that offers bachelor’s, master’s, and doctor’s degree programs.
Our university has around 12,000 undergraduates and over 2,200 postgraduate and doctoral students. We offer a multidisciplinary and multilevel medical education system.
Our network of 13 affiliated hospitals and 29 teaching hospitals gives aspiring medical students the required clinical teaching programs and training opportunities.
Research at FJMU
At FJMU, we emphasize solely on the research aspect of medicine. In this regard, we have research stations to offer postdoctoral fellowships in Clinical Medicine and Basic Medical Sciences and several key laboratories supported by different government organizations. Our Campus
We are very proud of our campuses that include the Shangjie campus and the Taijiang campus, which cover a large area of 87 hectares. Admissions and Fee
The admissions process for our university is fairly simple. We have designed it accordingly, keeping in mind the challenges faced by international students.
Download and fill out our application form. The application form can be found on the admission page of our university’s website. Upload the required documents on the admissions page of the university. The application fee is $800, which is required to process your application documents and covers the cost of the documents required for your student visa. It also covers the cost of sending the documents to your address in your home country. The application fee should be paid before the admission decision and is not refundable.
The tuition fee for the undergraduate degree is USD 35,000, while the master’s degree costs USD 40,000. You should also plan to have additional expenses of around USD 700 that will cover textbooks, accommodation, insurance, and a residence permit.
Courses Offered
FJMU currently offers 25 bachelor programs, including Clinical Medicine, Stomatology, Preventive Medicine, Medical Laboratory Tests and Analysis, Anaesthesiology, Medical Imaging, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Utilities Management, and Social Work.
At present, FJMU confers doctoral degrees in Clinical Medicine, Clinical Stomatology and Pharmacology as well as master’s degrees, which also cover Biology, Stomatology, Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Integrative Medicine, Pharmacy, and Social Medicine and Health Care Management.
Now, FJMU’s 477 professors and chief physicians, along with 682 associate professors and associate chief physicians, are a formidable part of its faculty members and medical personnel totaling up to 5,638, in which there are 528 master’s and doctor’s supervisors.
Basic Medical Sciences at Fujian Medical University
The School of Basic Medical Sciences was established in 1959. The school teaches preclinical medicine and some public fundamental courses, while also providing educational management for students of Clinical Medicine. There are over 250 teaching and administrative staff committed to providing the best education to our students.
The school develops the subordinate disciplines of preclinical medicine by setting up seven academic departments that include Human Anatomy; Histology and Embryology, Physiology; Pathophysiology, Pathology, Pathogenic Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry; Molecular Biology, Cell Biology; Genetics. We also have two teaching divisions – Mathematics; Computer Science Division and the Foreign Language Division.
The School has established five teaching laboratories – Integrated Laboratory of Functional Medicine, Integrated Laboratory of morphology, Laboratory of Biochemistry; Molecular Biology, Integrated Laboratory of Pathogenic Biology, and Integrated Laboratory of Human Anatomy – all of which further promote the reform of experiment teaching in both content and methods.
